Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County
The Spring Writes Literary Festival is one of many programs of the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County, (CAP), now celebrating its 30th year! The Festival got its start in 2009 from a desire to shine a light on the abundance of literary talent across the Finger Lakes Region, and bring writers and audiences together. Since then, it has grown from 14 events that the first year, to 43 in 2022! “CAP” also runs the Greater Ithaca Art Trail, the Ithaca Artist Market, the CAP ArtSpace has six grant programs for local arts and opportunities, and provides professional development for artists through workshops and networking events!

The impact on our writing community is strong. There is a groundswell of writers who want to participate, to help plan and organize events, and to get even more writers on board, says Robin Schwartz, Community Arts Partnership Grant and Program Director. Writers typically work in isolation, so the excitement generated by bringing this community together with each other and audiences is palpable.
