ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca Police Department has announced the arrest of one Ithaca woman who was found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle Friday morning.

Sgt. Jacob Allard of the Ithaca Police Department stated that the department received a report of a stolen vehicle in the 300 block of Floral Avenue in Ithaca around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15. The car was running when it was taken, according to the person who made the report.

Police said an officer on patrol saw the stolen vehicle around 9 a.m. Friday morning in the 100 block of North Plain Street. The car was running with Amanda Linderberry, 32, of Ithaca inside. Police stopped the vehicle and took Linderberry into custody. At this time, Linderberry is not charged with the actual theft of the vehicle.

However, Linderberry was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, and fourth degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. She was released on her own recognizance with a court date scheduled at an undisclosed date.
