ITHACA, N.Y.—Hey, everybody. Hopefully, if you’re reading this, you’re getting a chance to take a breath and get some rest as 2022 winds to an end.

On our end, we have a brief but exciting announcement: The Ithaca Voice is moving offices this week. We’re taking our talents to 121 East Seneca Street in downtown Ithaca. For years, we’ve made our home above the Cornell Store at 102 East State Street on the Ithaca Commons, but we want to continue expanding our staff and capabilities and a new office space will allow us to do that.

The community’s support over the last several years has made those aspirations possible, and you have our endless gratitude for that. It’s a truly exciting time for our organization.

As for how this will impact our readers, hopefully you won’t notice much of a difference. But this week may be a little bumpy as our staff returns from the holidays and does some heavy lifting to move our office equipment to our new location. Luckily, it’s been so warm recently that it should be an enjoyable task.

Fear not, we’ll still be covering any breaking news that happens during the next few days, but most of our posts this week will be focused on taking a look back at the past year. Along with a few articles we have been working on to end the year, we’ll also have a list of the top stories in development of 2022 from fan favorite Brian Crandall, the year in pictures from staff photographer Casey Martin, and a month-by-month recap of 2022 compiled and organized by our editorial staff—Jimmy Jordan, Zoë Freer-Hessler and yours truly.

Our e-mail addresses are all still the same, so feel free to reach out with any stories, tips, comments, etc. you want to tell us about.

And, of course, if you’d like to help us reach our fundraising goal of $50,000 by the end of 2022—there are still five days left and we are very close—you can donate right here. We have some more announcements about new things we’ll be doing in 2023 coming your way in the next few days and weeks, so keep an eye out and thanks for following along so far.

Thanks and happy holidays, from us to you.
