ITHACA, N.Y.—Police in Ithaca have announced the arrest of one man in an assault that took place in September.

Ithaca police allege that Tyler J. Morris, 32 years old of Freeville, assaulted a person who was waiting at a TCAT stop at the intersection of East Seneca Street and North Tioga Street on Sept. 6 around 4:36 p.m.

Police alleged that Morris approached a person at the bus stop and verbally accosted them. As the person left the area, Morris allegedly attacked the victim, seriously injuring them and requiring the victim to be sent to a regional trauma center, according to police.

Morris was eventually arrested Thursday on a warrant, and was charged with a felony, second-degree assault. He was remanded to Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
