ITHACA, N.Y.—Police have announced charges against two Ithacans after a dispute with a TCAT bus driver that took place Wednesday night.

Ithaca Police Sgt. Thomas Condzella said around 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 7, police were called to the 100 block of East Green Street when a bus driver reported that he had asked two passengers, who were described as “belligerent and intoxicated,” to leave the bus because of a disruption.

On their way out of the bus, Condzella said that the driver alleged that one of the passengers spit on him and another punched him. The passengers then fled and were chased by the driver, but were later apprehended by police.

22-year-old Umeek Adams and 44-year-old Terence Johnson, both of Ithaca, were both charged with second-degree harassment for the incident. They were issued appearance tickets and police are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
