Go on an adventure to local artist studios!

Visit artists on two Greater Ithaca Art Trail October Open Studio weekends. The Trail, a collection of over 50 artists around Tompkins County, is a program of the Community Arts Partnership and is one of the many events and services of “CAP.”

Over 30 artists on the Art Trail will open their studios to the public on October 8th, 9th, and 15th, 16th, from 11am to 5pm each day. Visitors can gather their art loving family and friends and enjoy a drive through the fall foliage with artist studios as destinations.  There’s no fee, and no appointments needed. Just a great adventure!

The artists will be thrilled to share their passion for their art making and show off what they’ve been working on.  A 2021 visitor on the Trail said, “I was blown away by the quality of the art that I saw and the really cool art studios. And I didn’t expect all the wonderful conversations I had with the artists. The Art Trail is such a unique and special event. And when you combine visiting such great artists with the beauty of the area, this is definitely going to be an annual event for me and I’ll be sure to bring heaps of friends each year!”

The artists on the Trail are painters, photographers, sculptors, printmakers, fiber artists, potters, makers of fine furniture, wood carvers, illustrators, mixed media artists, jewelers, digital artists, and more.

Those who are on a quest to buy art (holiday presents!) will find prices ranging from $10 to $5,000 and everything in between. Purchasing art can be an exhilarating experience and connecting with the artist is part of that experience.

Visit to download the list of 32 open studios. You’ll also find a page for each artist with images and bio, and a downloadable guide/map.

Accompanying the Open Studio weekends is an Art Trail Group Exhibit at the Community Arts Partnership’s “CAP ArtSpace” on the Ithaca Commons. The exhibit is up through October. Hours and Info for the live exhibit, and a link to a virtual version of the exhibit is at’s event page. There’s an opening on Friday, October 7th, from 5pm to 8pm. Many of the artists will be there and you can see multiple works in one location!
