ITHACA, N.Y.—One person was arrested after a robbery attempt on North Meadow Street in Ithaca during the early hours of Thursday morning.

In a press release from Sgt. Jacob Allard, police said they were called to a business in the 200 block of North Meadow Street around 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

“It was reported that the perpetrator stole property, then used force against employees, to attempt to steal more property before fleeing the store,” alleged police.

A description was provided and a suspect was eventually taken into custody a few blocks away. Ithaca resident Jennifer Conklin, 48 years old, was arrested and charged with third-degree attempted robbery, a class E felony, plus two misdemeanors for resisting arrest and petit larceny.

Conklin was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins
County Jail.
