ITHACA, N.Y.—The Ithaca Police Department announced the arrest of one person after a Tuesday night armed robbery attempt.

Police said they responded to the Five Below on South Meadow Street around 8:24 p.m. after a report of a robbery in progress.

The victim told police upon their arrival that the suspect, Emily N. Morris of Ithaca, had pulled a knife out during a confrontation when Morris tried to leave Five Below with a bag of items she didn’t pay for. Nobody was injured during the situation, and Morris ran out of an emergency exit.

Morris was then found behind an adjacent business after the robbery and taken into custody without incident, according to the police. She was charged with first degree attempted robbery, a felony, and remanded to Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $5,000 insurance bond.
