ITHACA, N.Y.—Aldi, the German discount supermarket chain, is close to opening another location in the Ithaca area.

In addition to its location on 3rd Street in the City of Ithaca, near the Ithaca Farmer’s Market, Aldi will be opening a new location at 2309 North Triphammer Rd. in the Village of Lansing’s Cayuga Shopping Center.

Opening day is Sept. 1, and the company is attempting to entice shoppers to the new location on day one by offering shoppers a chance to win a $500 Aldi Gift Card, and the first 100 shoppers a gift card — though they don’t specify for what amount.

Aldi representatives will open the store for business with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:20am.
