ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca police have updated the investigation into last week’s shooting that culminated in a misguided standoff of sorts on West Seneca Street. Police surrounded a house on the 300 block for several hours before discovering the suspect, who shot two people on West State Street, had left the house before police arrived.

IPD announced today that they believe the suspect has left Ithaca, though little other new information was made available, as in police have still not released a name or more detailed description of the suspect. They did say that both victims are not cooperating with the investigation, and that a verbal altercation likely happened between the victims (one of whom police claim also had a gun) and the gunman before the shooting.

There was no information provided about the condition of the victims, though last week their injuries were called “non-life-threatening.”
