ITHACA, N.Y.—Police from Ithaca and Cornell University are investigating a reported sexual assault from earlier this month.

According to an announcement from the Cornell University Police Department, police received a report of a sexual assault that took place on March 17, 2022. Police said they received the report this week.

According to police, the incident happened between Ridgewood Road and the 100 block of Thurston Avenue around 1 a.m. The victim stated that she was “sexually assaulted by an unknown suspect,” according to police.

No other information about the crime or suspect was included by CUPD.

CUPD said that Ithaca Police Department is handling the investigation, but that anyone with information can contact IPD at (607) 272-9973 or CUPD at (607) 255-1111. Students can also use the RAVE Guardian app.
