DRYDEN, N.Y.—A fire on Freese Road Saturday night destroyed one residence, though nobody was hurt in the blaze that drew responses from several fire departments.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15. There was no mention of a further investigation into the fire or what caused the incident.

“No one was injured, but our thoughts are with the residents who lost their home,” said the Varna Volunteer Fire Company, which responded to the fire along with departments from Neptune, Etna, Freeville, Cayuga Heights, Brooktondale, Slaterville and Cornell University.

Further details were not announced, though the Varna firefighters also thanked McLean for contributing its rehab trailer and the Town of Dryden for salting the roads around the blaze.
