TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—The Tompkins County Health Department has announced another COVID-19 booster clinic coming up, on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., for adults.

The clinic will be using the Moderna vaccine booster, though anyone who received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine series at least five months ago, or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago, is eligible and can safely receive the booster. More information can be found at the Vaccination Clinics page.

The health department adds that vaccination clinics for kids aged 5-11 will be held “in partnership with local school districts over the next two weeks.” Registration links for those clinics were sent out by districts.

For Saturday:

·    Moderna COVID-19 vaccine booster

·    Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

·    The Shops at Ithaca Mall Vaccination Site (40 Catherwood Dr. Ithaca)

·    18 years and older

Those who sign up for a booster should bring their vaccination card and a photo ID, and allow 15 minutes for observation afterwards. The vaccine is free. Transportation is also available, through TCAT (free with vaccination appointment proof) and through calling 2-1-1 during business hours.

COVID-19 vaccination and booster doses are also available at NYS sites and local pharmacies.

Beyond that, the federal government finally opened its registration links to receive four rapid COVID-19 home tests for free. Each household is eligible for four tests. The link is here. Deliveries will begin in late January, according to the site, and will be handled by the United States Postal Service.
