ITHACA, N.Y.—The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office are trying to find a 37-year-old Ithaca woman who hasn’t been seen in about 30 hours.

Police said Sylvie A. Ginenthal, of the Town of Ithaca, left her house on Seven Mile Drive at 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 16 to “take a walk to the City of Ithaca or Buttermilk Falls area.” Apparently, she has not been heard from since, though it is unclear when exactly she was reported missing.

Ginenthal is described as “a white female approximately 5’0″ tall, 120 lbs, long brown hair and brown eyes. Sylvie was last seen wearing a blue knit cap and had a brown and gray shoulder bag.”

Police are requesting anyone who has seen Sylvie or knows where she is to contact the Department of Emergency Response at (607) 272-2444.

The Ithaca Voice has requested more details of the circumstances around Ginenthal’s disappearance and will update this story if any are made available.
