Tompkins Connect is excited to announce it is now accepting nominations for the seventh annual Fab5 Young Professional Awards sponsored by Tompkins Trust Company. The Fab5 Awards celebrate the achievement of young professionals ages 21-40 in Tompkins County. This year, the Fab5 Committee is seeking young professionals who have been able to shine and excel despite the unprecedented challenges our community has faced over the last year and a half.

This year’s theme is “5-Star Reviews” and encourages people to nominate young professionals in the community for whom they would give a glowing five-star review. The Fab5 Award categories are: Entrepreneur of the Year, Not-for-Profit Leader of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Rookie of the Year.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s award ceremony was held virtually and featured many surprises such as cameos by Paula Abdul, Jon Lovitz, and Alfonso Ribeiro. This year, the Fab5 Committee hopes to return to an in-person event, scheduled for March 7 at Coltivare.

Katie Shaw, Tompkins Connect Chair shared, “We are thrilled to be hosting our seventh annual Fab5 Awards and to celebrate five exceptional young professionals from our community.” Shaw added, “We are really excited to host an in-person event in 2022 to honor the winners.”
