TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—Thanksgiving Day is nearly here (or is here, depending on when you’re reading this) but there are myriad reasons someone might need a little extra boost on our nation’s most gluttonous holiday (it’s in the top five, at least).
Here’s a brief list of options around the community for those who may need it. To build this list, the Downtown Ithaca Alliance, Tompkins Chamber, the Food Donation Network and the Human Services Coalition of Tompkins County were all consulted.
And, of course, 14850.com has also compiled its own list of pre-Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day offerings that is more exhaustive than this one.
A list of area food pantries that are open Thursday and this weekend.
At this link, you can search your location, then click on “Holiday Meals” to find places specifically serving free Thanksgiving meals on Thursday.
