TRUMANSBURG, N.Y.—A detached two-car garage with two vehicles inside became engulfed in flames along Jacksonville Rd. on Wednesday evening.

Crews from the Trumansburg Fire Department, Enfield Fire Department, and Mecklenburg Fire Department responded to the scene at about 6:30 p.m. The flaming garage was knocked down to prevent the fire from spreading to the house adjacent to it. From there, firefighters were reportedly able to get the inferno under control in about 15 minutes from their time of arrival. No one is reported injured.

An investigation into the cause of the fire began soon after it was extinguished. Units remained at the scene until about 2:00 a.m. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but the incident is still being looked into by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control.

Trumansburg EMS also responded to the scene Wednesday evening, and Interlaken Fire Department stood by at the Trumansburg Fire Station to cover any additional calls that might come in.
