ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca Police responded to the report of a possible drowning in the inlet in Ithaca around 1 p.m. on Sept. 4. The person was declared deceased at the scene.
Police went to the area of 100 South Fulton Street and located the victim. They stated in a press release that the drowning “appears to be accidental and not the result of a criminal act.”
The victim’s name is not being released at this time, according to police. Police were assisted by Bangs Ambulance and the Ithaca Fire Department.
