ITHACA, N.Y.—Ithaca Police are investigating a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Elm Street around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

According to the police’s narrative of the incident, officers found evidence in the area of “multiple shots fired” after responding to the reports.

“Further investigation revealed that at least one bullet struck a vehicle that was occupied,” police said. “A second unoccupied vehicle was also struck by a bullet. No physical injuries were reported.”

Police did not clarify whether or not the person who was occupying one of the vehicles saw the source of the shots or if the bullets entered the interior of the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
