ITHACA, N.Y. –– Crews working to install multiple water and sanitary sewer pipes on West Buffalo Street have shut down a portion of the road, with work scheduled through the end of the week.    

The work, which is taking place on the 300 block, began today, July 7 at 7:00 a.m. According to the city, work is scheduled to finish Friday, July 9 at 3:30 p.m.   

The block of West Buffalo Street is completely closed to thru traffic from the intersection with Plain Street to the intersection with Albany Street. Local and emergency access is being maintained.  

The following detours should be advised:

Westbound traffic on Buffalo Street should turn left on Albany Street, right on Seneca Street, and right on Plain Street to return to Buffalo Street.   

Eastbound traffic on Buffalo Street should turn left on Plain Street, right on Court Street, and right on Albany Street to return to Buffalo Street.
