ITHACA, N.Y. – Attention all music lovers in the Ithaca area, Downtown Ithaca will be welcoming back the CFCU Summer Concert Series starting July 8. This new series comes after the cancellation of in-person music last summer in favor of a virtual alternative due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The concert series will take place at the Bernie Milton Pavilion on the Commons at 6 p.m. every Thursday from July 8 to September 9.

“(I feel) very very excited,” Scott Rougeau special events director at Downtown Ithaca Alliance said. “We had a successful virtual series last year, but being able to reconnect with the community and have people actually be on-site for a live performance is going to be pretty special.”

The series is set to include performances by local favorites, newbies to the Ithaca music scene and some popular regional musicians as well ––The Fall Creek Brass Band, Noon Fifteen and City Limits are all on the roster.  The remaining performers can be viewed below.

Per CDC guidelines, those attending are required to wear masks if not vaccinated.

“We’ve seen some smaller events taking place and with the states restrictions lifting, (also) we’ve been working with the Tompkins County Health Department and Cayuga Medical Center’s, one of our sponsors, to make sure it was appropriate for these concerts to return in the capacity that they are,” Rougeau said.

The CFCU Credit Union is the main sponsor for the event. Other sponsors include Seneca Beverage Company, Wagner Vineyards, Cayuga Radio Group, Cayuga Health, Ithaca Times, Ithaca Downtown Marriott on the Commons, Monks on the Commons, Maguire Hyundai Subaru Genesis and Alt 95.9. More information on the concert series can be viewed on the Downtown Ithaca Alliance website and Facebook.
