ITHACA, N.Y. ––The Tompkins County Office of the Aging is reaching out to the community to ask if anyone would be willing, either on a paid or volunteer basis, to assist older adults with yard work and/or handyman services.

With Summer rapidly approaching, lawn mowing, gardening, and general yard work are needed and many seniors are unable to complete these tasks on their own.

The office maintains a list of individuals willing to do yard work in the spring and summer months. They are currently updating their list and are in need of more workers, especially people who are willing to work outside the City of Ithaca in rural areas.

Anyone interested in assisting older adults on either a volunteer or paid basis is asked to contact the Office of the Aging at 607-274-5482. If your name was listed last year, and you would like to be listed again, please send notice.
