ORIGINAL STORY:

ITHACA, N.Y.–Ithaca Police are investigating the discovery of a dead body in the Ithaca Falls Natural Area. The body was discovered after being reported around 10:48 a.m. on Saturday, May 8.

In a release, police said that the death does not appear to be the result of a criminal act. The body, according to police, is that of a 19 year old man and was found in the Ezra’s Tunnel area.

While the name of the deceased person is not being released, police do appear to know the identity, as they said they are notifying those connected to the person.

Police are asking for anyone who was in the area of Ezra’s Tunnel and North Willard Way between 1 a.m. and 10 a.m. on May 8 should contact the IPD Investigations Division.
