TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—The suspect in a stabbing that left a woman with wounds to her neck and hands over the weekend has been found dead.

Police announced that Chris O. Hall, 55, of Vestal, N.Y., was discovered dead in his vehicle in Tompkins County on Monday afternoon. Police said that his death had been ruled self-inflicted upon investigation.

The woman that Hall allegedly stabbed was listed in stable condition as of Sheriff Derek Osborne’s press release on the morning of April 20.

There aren’t many details available about what happened in the initial stabbing, but police said that it took place around 12:30 a.m. on April 19 at the Pine Creek Campground in the Town of Enfield. The stabbing victim, 43 years old but otherwise unidentified by police, was taken via helicopter to a regional trauma center by Bangs Ambulance.
