DRYDEN, N.Y. –– Traffic was stalled on Dryden Harford Road—State Route 38—in the Town of Dryden Tuesday morning after a dump trailer carrying stone ran off the road and overturned.

Just before 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, New York State Police at Ithaca responded to the scene of the accident where they found a 40-year-old man of Canajoharie, NY who managed to escape the incident unharmed. Members from the New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit also responded.

After some initial investigation, law enforcement determined that the driver, who was traveling south on Dryden Harford Road, went off the roadway into a ditch, causing the vehicle to roll onto its side, spilling stone.

No other persons or vehicles were involved in the accident. Only property damages occurred including a lawn along Dryden Harford Road.

The investigation into the potential cause of the incident is still underway.
