ITHACA, N.Y. –– Last week, New York State Police arrested an Ithaca man on charges of felony sex abuse.

The Ithaca Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Eric N. Deas, age 55 of Ithaca, for Aggravated Sexual Abuse in the second degree.

According to a press release from law enforcement, Deas “forcibly sexually assaulted” the victim some time between March 6 and March 7 while in the Town of Ithaca. State Police say the victim and Deas did know each other before the incident.

Deas, after reporting to the State Police headquarter in Ithaca on March 17, was arrested, arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
