UPDATE: Weather has canceled the vaccination delivery for this week. More information is available here.
TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—For the week of Feb. 15, Tompkins County has received 800 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which will be allocated to people aged 65 and over with comorbidities (or underlying medical conditions) as well as grocery and P-12 school workers.
Of the 800 doses, 200 will be given to those 65 and over with medical conditions, while the remainder will be given to grocery and school workers eligible in Phase 1B.
The Health Department is working with McGraw House and Titus Towers this week to prioritize their residents who are aged 65 and over and have comorbidities and make sure as many as possible are registered for their vaccines.
“This week, we are locally prioritizing grocery workers, P-12 school workers, and adults who are age 65 and older with underlying medical conditions, all of whom are eligible,” said Public Health Director Frank Kruppa. “As we have done for the past three weeks, we will continue to communicate directly with the eligible populations. The allotment we are given from the State is still limited, so at the Cayuga Health site at the mall, we are continuing to prioritize our essential workers and those who are at the highest risk of severe complications from COVID-19.”
Another 200 doses have been shipped to Cayuga Health System so that they can continue to administer doses to healthcare workers eligible under Phase 1A.
All eligible populations can be found here.
