TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—The Tompkins County Health Department has reported another COVID-19 death, marking the 18th in the county since the pandemic began in March.
The death was reported Tuesday amid 39 new positive tests for the coronavirus. There are 29 people now hospitalized with active COVID-19 cases, and 266 total active cases in the county. Forty-one people were released from quarantine Tuesday. Considering no nursing home connection was mentioned by the health department, it does not appear this death is connected to one of the ongoing outbreaks at local senior living facilities.
“TCHD was notified of the death of a Tompkins County resident today. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of this individual,” said Public Health Director Frank Kruppa.
Updated Table: 39 new cases, 41 released, 29 hospitalized, 266 active cases. One death reported today.
