ITHACA, N.Y. –– A construction project to replace a water valve at the intersection of S. Cayuga and Green Streets scheduled for this week is now being postponed until the week of Dec. 21 as winter weather ensues.

Because of the pending snow storm and to provide more advance notice for localized water service outages, crews will begin work to replace a broken water valve on Monday, Dec. 21 at 7:00 a.m. The work is scheduled to wrap up Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 3:00 p.m.

During the duration of the work, the 200 block of S. Cayuga Street will be closed to thru traffic.  Southbound traffic on S. Cayuga intending to head toward Clinton Street will be diverted west onto W. State Street to S. Geneva.

Water service impacts are also anticipated, particularly the morning of Dec 22. This will include Hotel Ithaca, the 100 block of W. Green Street, and Cayuga Green I and II.
