ITHACA, N.Y. –– Residents of Ithaca should get the last of the fallen leaves in their yards collected as city yard waste collection is set to end after next week.

For those utilizing the last collection period, as a reminder yard waste must be in a bag or a bin, tagged properly, and placed at the curb along side your trash, on your scheduled trash pick up day (opposite recycling pick-up weeks).

You can find your trash pick up day using our Resident Services Search Tool, by consulting this document, or using this map

Trash and yard waste will not occur on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26. Trash and yard waste collection will be pushed forward one day for the remainder of the week. Regular Thursday collection will occur Friday, Nov. 27.

Yard waste tags are available at all places garbage tags are sold. As the season is drawing to a close, some vendors may not be stocking yard waste tags any longer. We recommend that you call locations in advance to ensure that yard waste tags are in stock. Yard waste tags are sold at these locations
