ITHACA, N.Y.—Two people were arrested after a fight at Speedway Gas Station on Elmira Road in Ithaca which involved one person wielding a machete.

Ithaca Police said the dispute took place at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and initial calls to the department said one of the people involved in the altercation had a sword. Officers responded to the scene and found that three individuals had been involved in a fight after a domestic dispute.

Police said at some point during the fight, one victim was “punched, choked and thrown onto the ground.” One woman did produce a machete and used it to “menace” another woman, according to police, as well as puncture the tires of a vehicle.

Police arrested two people in the aftermath of the fight. Neyvon Pinckney, age 29 of Spencer, was charged with second degree strangulation (a felony), third degree assault and fourth degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. He was remanded to Tompkins County Jail on $3,000/$6,000 bail.

20 year old Jaquela Rice, of Elmira, was also arrested and charged with second degree menacing and fourth degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. She was released on her own recognizance after appearing before a judge.polic
