TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y.—The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office will hold its annual Prescription Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, Oct. 24, aimed at taking prescription drugs back from people who have excess supplies to ensure they don’t end up being distributed illegally.

The event will be held at two Kinney Drugs locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24.

The Kinney Drugs in Ithaca and Trumansburg, at 2255 N. Triphammer Road in Ithaca and 2100 NY-96 in Trumansburg, respectively, are both hosting the give-backs, according to the sheriff’s office.

There will be collection bins available for the disposal of prescription medications, but no liquid medications or sharps will be accepted.
