ITHACA, N.Y. –– Utility work on the new Library Place building will shut down traffic on the 100 block of West Court St. for the entire week.
Danella Line Services Company, Inc., a contractor working for Verizon, will be relocating underground telephone utilities in the 100 block of West Court Street, closing the road to traffic between Cayuga and Geneva Streets until Friday.
Local access to driveways will still be available. However, the sidewalk on the south side of the street will remain closed. Four to five parking spaces will also be unavailable to the public during construction. Other on-street spaces will still be available.
A detour will be posted directing motorists to Buffalo St., and a sidewalk detour is in place directing pedestrians to the north side of the street.
The city advises that drivers plan their commute in advance to avoid the area if they can.
