ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Police Department responded to reports of shots fired on Cayuga Street Monday evening in the parking lot of Kinney Drugs.

At approximately 5:42 p.m., IPD responded to several reports of shots fired in the area of Farm and Cayuga Streets. Upon arrival, officers located evidence confirming that shots had been fired in the Kinney parking lot, but located no injured victims of suspects.

Upon investigation, officers learned of an altercation between approximately four people. An adult male was observed to have chased at least two younger male subjects in and around the 500 block of N. Cayuga St., and fired shots at them during the chase.

The scene was processed and released a short time later.

Ithaca Police believe that a late model blue pick up truck was operated by one of the involved parties and may have fled down Cascadilla Street.

There were a number of persons in the area at the time of this altercation, including pedestrians, and patrons of Thompson Park.
