ENFIELD, N.Y. –– State police arrested three suspects after a home invasion in Enfield ended in multiple shots fired by the homeowner and the suspects fleeing the scene in a getaway car on Saturday.

On July 25 at approximately 7:21 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca responded to a report of a home invasion on Rumsey Hill Road in the town of Enfield.

After an investigation by law enforcement, it was confirmed that two subjects, Mark S. Ward, age 50 of Covert, and Frisco A. Meeks, age 32 of Ithaca, broke into the residence and were both shot by the homeowner after he told them to leave and they did not. The two suspects ultimately fled the area in a vehicle driven by a third suspect following the incident.

New York State Police report that the homeowner was not injured during the incident.

Both suspects were driven to Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA by the third person involved –– Jaime L. Coleman, age 38 of Trumansburg, NY. Coleman was arrested on July 25, and charged with the felony burglary in the first degree. She was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 property bond.

Ward was treated at Robert Packer Hospital Saturday then transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Once released on July 27 he was arrested and charged with the felony burglary in the first degree. Ward was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on no bail.

Meeks was also treated at Robert Packer Hospital and extradited from Pennsylvania to New York. He was subsequently arrested on July 29 and charged with felony burglary in the first degree. Meeks was arraigned and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on no bail.
