ITHACA, N.Y. –– Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Ithaca Quik Shoppe Tuesday night after a suspect with a handgun took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the scene on foot.
At approximately 9:50 p.m., Ithaca Police were called to the Quik Shoppe, located at 317 3rd Street, in the City of Ithaca for a robbery that the caller said had just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim who had been working as a clerk in the convenience store at the time. The victim reported that a male subject entered the store and immediately approached him brandishing a handgun demanding money.
The clerk was able to get to the register and offer cash to the perpetrator, and the incident ended without injury.
The suspect is described as a male of average height and build, likely caucasian. The perpetrator was described as wearing a dark-colored, long-sleeved hooded shirt or sweatshirt, dark bottoms, opaque gloves, and a ski mask at the time of the robbery.
This incident is currently under investigation and no further details are available.
