ITHACA, N.Y. — No one was injured after the Ithaca Fire Department extinguished a fire on South Hill early Wednesday morning.

IFD responded to a report of smoke filling up the home, located at 628 Coddington Rd., and the smell of burning plastic at around 2:20 a.m. on July 1. The two occupants of the house were not injured, but the house is damaged, according to IFD.

When the IFD arrived, smoke was coming from the back of the home and flames were visible in one of the bedrooms.

Firefighters knocked down the fire from the outside and checked for any fire spread and ventilated the smoke from the building.
