ITHACA, N.Y. –– The 300 block of East State Street will be closed to traffic Monday and Tuesday as crews work to install solar panels on the City Centre apartment building.
The project, happening at 301 East State Street, will block off the road between Seneca Way and South Aurora Street as a crane hoists a commercial solar system for installation on the building.
According to the City of Ithaca Engineering Department, the project is set to last two days and regular traffic should resume by July 1.
The 100 block of North Aurora Street remains closed for pedestrian use as restaurants continue expanded patio operations.
On-street parking will be blocked/restricted on the block for the duration of the project. Visitors and restaurant customers are advised to use alternate parking locations such as the Green Street and Seneca Street Parking Garages.
Motorists driving downtown are advised to avoid the area by taking Clinton Street coming from East Hill or Prospect Street coming from South Hill.
