ITHACA, N.Y. –– A robber, alleging he was armed, was able to make off with an undisclosed amount of cash at the A Plus Mini Market in downtown Ithaca early Wednesday morning.

At 1:52 a.m., the Ithaca Police Department responded to the A-Plus at 210 S. Cayuga St., where they learned a suspect had entered the store and demanded money from the cash registers while indicating that he had a weapon.

The suspect fled the scene with the cash prior to police arriving.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9” to 6’0” feet tall, wearing a black hat, grey zip-up sweatshirt, and a blue bandana covering the face below the eyes.

At this time the investigation is ongoing, and there police are releasing no further details.
