TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. — Positive cases of coronavirus are up to 70 Sunday, a jump of 14 positives overnight, as Tompkins County Health Department begins to reap the benefits of expanded sampling.
While the 14 case jump is the second-largest single-day increase in cases, but those 14 positives came with the largest jump in negative results since TCHD began putting numbers out on march 17.
“The significant increase in negative test results is due to a large batch of test results delivered this weekend following the increase in testing at the Cayuga Health Sampling Site,” the county said with the updated numbers.
There has been no change in the number of hospitalized overnight, that number remains at 2.
The Cayuga Health Sampling Site is open again this week from Monday through Friday, 1o a.m. to 3 p.m.
