ITHACA, N.Y. –– For customers who experienced a break in their internet service on Saturday, it may be possible to get a credit from Spectrum for the lost service.
Early Saturday afternoon Spectrum customers began experiencing widespread internet outages that affected millions in upstate New York, Maine and New Hampshire. Service was restored after several hours.
Lara Pritchard, the senior director for Northeast communications for Charter said “the outage was caused by weather-related fiber damage to primary and redundant networks, and our teams worked to restore service as quickly as we could.”
Pritchard said for those that wish to get a credit for their account, it won’t be automatically taken off the bill. “We will work with affected customers who contact us individually,” she said.
