ITHACA, N.Y. –– Family & Children’s Services of Ithaca celebrates its sixth annual Peace of Mind event on Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Ithaca High School.

This community-focused event will provide a half-day of healing and wellness while supporting Family & Children’s Service of Ithaca’s mission to offer high-quality, compassionate mental healthcare to anyone in the community. Registration is by suggested donation of $35.00 but participants are encouraged to pay what they can to attend.

The activities woven into Peace of Mind are examples of wellness practices that serve as a strong complement to the mental health services offered at F&CS. This year, sessions are available in Yoga, Movement, Pilates, Tai Chi, Reiki and Acupuncture.

Peace of Mind highlights different wellness practices used to support mental health, and allows a forum for individuals to try out new activities that may be beneficial to their own mental wellness and overall health. Several F&CS clinicians will serve as teachers and practitioners for the event, emphasizing Family & Children’s focus on comprehensive mental health care. Exposure to a wide variety of high-quality, beginner-friendly courses from top teachers and practitioners in the local community will inspire participants to continue to engage in different mind-body practices to support their long-term well-being.

Registration for Peace of Mind includes classes, treatments, and refreshments. Peace of Mind is open to the public and all skill levels—from first-timers to experienced practitioners. All you need is yourself, some comfy clothes, and a yoga mat! To register, please visit our website at

Peace of Mind is sponsored by Cayuga Medical Center. All funds raised from this event go to supporting the efforts of F&CS to provide high quality, affordable mental health services throughout the year.

Family & Children’s Service of Ithaca supports, promotes, and strengthens the well-being of individuals and families by providing high-quality, accessible mental health care and related social services with a particular sensitivity towards the needs of children.
