ITHACA, N.Y. —Ithaca Police Department says that it is investigating a shots fired incident in the 200 block of West Spencer Street on Monday evening, the third of its type since November.
According to a release from IPD, around 11:26 p.m Monday evening., officers responded to several reports of shots being fired on West Spencer Street.
Upon arrival on the scene, a witness in the area reported observing an unknown subject exiting a motor vehicle on West Spencer Street and firing four rounds towards a nearby residence prior to fleeing from the scene in said vehicle.
A previous shots fired call in November yielded similar reports of a suspect firing shots at a residence in the 200 block of West Spencer Street before speeding away in a vehicle.

Members of the Ithaca Police Crime Scene Unit responded and assisted with processing the scene and collecting and documenting evidence to include four shell casings that were located. At this time this investigation is currently ongoing say police.
IPD is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the department via any of the means below. Those who wish to remain anonymous may do so.
City of Ithaca Chief of Police Dennis Nayor confirmed to the Voice on Tuesday morning that the department believes the incidents are connected and are pursuing leads.
