ITHACA, N.Y. –– On Sunday, Dec. 8, the Foundry is hosting a holiday maker’s market featuring goods from 35 local artisans.

There is a wide selection of handmade goods for sale including candles, prints, jewelry, leather bags and wallets, apothecary products, reusable bags, custom fitted overalls, organic snacks, home decor, millinery and gourmet chocolates. All the businesses involved can be found on the market’s website.

The Foundry is a combined co-working and event space at 416 E. State St., next to Argos Inn. During evenings, and on weekends the sleek office space opens up to include creative workshops, private events –– and now, this market.

The event was created by local artisans and founders of the Foundry Workshops, Elizabeth Thompson and Hala Ostwani.

Thompson and Ostwani, “understand the work and process that go into making products by hand, and are greatly appreciative of owning and gifting items that are not only unique, but support craft as an art form, and those people who are willing to share their talents,” they wrote in a statement about the event. “Every item purchased from an artisan supports someone’s dream and connects us to a larger community that allows our inner creativity to blossom.”

The market will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 8. There will be music, as well as refreshments –– mulled wine from Argos Warehouse and comfort food served by Stone Bend Farm available for people as they shop.
