ITHACA, N.Y. –– It’s been more than two years since Nicole Marranca was last seen.
For her birthday this year, her friends and family want people to remember that she is still missing.
“I just don’t want it to be forgotten,” Nicole’s stepmother Kelley Marranca said. “Her birthday is Wednesday, she’d be thirty years old.”
Nicole Dawn Marranca was last seen Aug. 18, 2017, at the Old Goat Gear Exchange in Ithaca. Since the Ithaca Voice last reported on the case this past August, there have been no new developments, but the case is open and active, according to the Ithaca Police Department.
Nicole has blue eyes, strawberry blonde hair and sometimes wore a red wig. She also has a Grateful Dead tattoo on her back. Nicole struggled with a heroin addiction and sometimes worked as an escort. She sometimes went by CJ.
In August, the family said that despite her struggles with addiction, she always kept in touch with her father, Nick Marranca. Nicole also has a young daughter, who is in the custody of Nick Marranca and his wife, Kelley. This is another reason they believe, she would not have up and left without any contact.
Kelley Marranca still thinks that there are answers in the community.
“Somebody knows something,” she said. “And somebody’s just not talking.”
Marranca went on to say that she thinks some people with information could be worried about talking to police because of outstanding warrants or other negative run-ins with the law.
“They can call us if they wanted to,” she said.
The family has a Find Nicole Marranca Facebook page with regular updates. They are offering $5,000 for information that leads to her whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to contact police. The anonymous tiplines to do so are below.
