ITHACA, N.Y. –– The Little Red Wagon Artisan Market, Ithaca’s juried holiday craft show, is rolling into town for its sixth year, for a two-day event on Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14.
From humble beginnings in 2013, Little Red Wagon has grown into one of Ithaca’s most beloved holiday shopping opportunities. Visitors get to support and shop local for handmade goods offered by the diverse collection of artisans featured at the show. This year, the Little Red Wagon is excited to announce a new, larger location for its holiday market; Artist Alley, on the ground floor at the South Hill Business Campus, located on Rt 96B a short distance from downtown Ithaca, across from the main entrance to Ithaca College.
The market will feature approximately 70 curated fine artists and artisans, and showcase a wide variety of handmade products, from pottery to clothing, jewelry, art, wood and housewares, local cider and beer, body care, coffee, pastries and more. Lunch and libations will be available.
Year-around, Artist Alley is home to its own collection of art studios and workshops, housing everything from puppeteers to painters, jewelers to printmakers. Many of these studios will be open during the Little Red Wagon holiday show – visitors can expect to find not only local artists lining the many hallways of the alley, but will also be welcomed to explore the open artist studios. The market will also be held in conjunction with the Clay School of Ithaca’s annual student pottery sale. The Clay School is a founding resident at Artist Alley, as well as the Metal Smithery; two established local art-based businesses that offer classes for youth and adults.
The Little Red Wagon will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14, at Artist Alley on the ground floor at the South Hill Business Campus, located across from the entrance to Ithaca College on Rt 96B in Ithaca, with plenty of free parking.
