ITHACA, N.Y. — This weekend, the fifth Wizarding Weekend drew costumed crowds to enjoy magically themed activities, explore GorgeKeep, shop, and enjoy all sorts of treats.

Now a downtown tradition before Halloween, the festival has evolved to include more activities and sci-fi fandoms every year. This year, people could enjoy a potions crawl, a Mystic Arts Ball, costume contests, crafts, vendors selling broomsticks, wands and more. One of the main attractions of the festival has become GorgeKeep School of Magic, Ithaca’s own magical arts school. Housed in New Roots Charter School this year and complemented by an augmented reality experience, the magical academy features guardians and quests for magicians of all ages.
