ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cayuga Chamber Orchestra will present the first Chamber Music Series concert of the 2019-2020 season Sunday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church.

“Fauré in Fall” will feature music by Fauré, Gaubert, and Prokofiev. This program features three works written within a 40-year span, including Fauré’s Piano Quartet No. 2, Prokofiev’s Sonata for Two Violins, Gaubert’s Trois Aquarelles for Flute, Cello, and Piano.

Featured performers include Wendy Herbener Mehne, Christina Bouey, Anthony Bracewell, Rosemary Elliott, and Xak Bjerken. Ticket-holders are invited to a post-concert reception with the performers.

The CCO was founded in 1976 and was officially designated “Ithaca’s Orchestra.” Each season includes an Orchestral Series, Chamber Music Series, a Holiday concert, free concerts at the public library, and the long-standing Willard Daetsch Youth Outreach Program, which earned the 2015 Yale Distinguished Music Educator award. In 2017, the CCO added a Youth Orchestra program for advanced students. The first Family Pops concert at the State Theatre took place in October 2018.
