TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. — The Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance takes place each July in the Trumansburg Fairgrounds and is a defining feature of Tompkins County. We traversed the fairgrounds last week to try to capture the spirit of the ‘fest and to find out what people thought of the this year’s event.

Among those interviewed was local entertainer Ramsey Fulcher (a.k.a. DJ Evo) who curated the Congo Square stage. Leah Song – singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, activist and poet of world-renowned act Rising Appalachia – sat down with us for an exclusive interview Thursday before the band’s set at the Grandstand stage.
