ITHACA, N.Y. — Officers from the Ithaca Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at about 1:15 a.m. on the 400 block of Green Street and said they later located a victim at an area hospital.

Police said when they arrived on scene near West Green Street and Plain Street they did not locate any victims or involved subjects. They later identified a person seeking treatment at a nearby hospital who they believe to be the victim. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

An investigation is ongoing and police are seeking information from the public. Specifically, they have asked any residents or businesses with security cameras on Green Street between Plain Street and Cayuga Street to contact the department’s investigations unit. People providing information to police can remain anonymous.

Police have cleared the scene as of 9 a.m.
